Music Undergraduate Programs

Passionate about music? Whether you want to build a career in music or nurture your talents while preparing for another career path, Music at Charlotte sets the stage for your future.

With multiple degree options and concentration areas, a music degree at UNC Charlotte prepares students for many career paths. A major in music offers students comprehensive training in composition, music education, jazz studies or performance, while building skills in critical thinking, communication and focus. Many music graduates move directly into the profession as teachers or performers, while others opt for advanced training in graduate programs or positions with professional organizations. A number of our alumni have used their undergraduate training as a foundation for other professions, including medicine and law.

The Department of Music awards Bachelor of Music degrees with concentrations in seven areas and a Bachelor of Arts in Music that easily allows for a double major. Learn more about our music programs, below!
