How did you first get interested in architecture?
I’ve always been interested in buildings and how they shape a space and the experience of someone within it. I took a drafting course in high school that really pushed my interest into the field and it all eventually led me to architecture school.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to become a licensed architect and one day, have a practice of my own.
What is your favorite thing about your department?
My favorite thing about the School of Architecture at UNC Charlotte is the studio culture and the community we have. Everyone, whether peers or professors, is always open to helping one another learn and improve.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts/design community?
I am the President of AIAS (American Institute of Architecture Students) at UNC Charlotte. I also am a part of the School of Architecture’s iPal program, which has given me the opportunity to intern at KDG Architecture.
Do you have any scholarships? If so, please tell us about it and how it is helping you as a student.
I’m a part of the Arts and Architecture Honors Program, and received the Honors Scholarship for the past two years. I also received the Dale F. Halton International Study Scholarship for my recent study abroad over the summer. I’m very grateful for the support I’ve received for my education here at Charlotte and abroad.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love running and hiking, and binging a good TV show!
