Professor Designs Lighting for USC Production
Professor of Theatre Bruce Auerbach is the guest lighting designer for a current production of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the University of South Carolina (USC). The production is presented by the USC Department of Theatre and Dance and runs September 30-October 8.
Directed by Robert Richmond, the artistic director of the theatre program, the production design heightens the play’s world of imagination and magic, with surrealist elements.
Since 1982 Professor Auerbach has created stage designs for more than two hundred regional theatre and university productions for both theatre and dance. He served as co-editor of the book Practical Projects for Teaching Lighting Design: A Compendium v2, published by the U.S. Institute for Theatre Technology in March 2016.
