How did you first get interested in architecture?
I originally wanted to be an engineer. During the pandemic I started to explore my creative side and knew I wanted to do something closer to design. I enjoy the mixture of creativity and logical thinking.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to become a certified architect. It would be amazing to at one point start my own business as a freelance architect. I think I would have more creative freedom than in a larger company.
What is your favorite thing about the David R. Ravin School of Architecture?
I love the studio culture. Architecture can call for quite a few late nights in the studio, but it definitely is not a lonely experience. I’ve made some really good friends in the studio that I don’t think I would’ve made without that type of environment.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I’m currently a member of the SOANS (School of Architecture Never Sleeps) publication. It’s a new group, new enough we still haven’t made it an official organization, but we have big plans for it.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I can be found in the gym fairly often. When I’m not working out I try to work on videos for my YouTube channel.
