Vincent Petrarca
Vincent Petrarca, AIA, LEED AP is principal and co-owner of Katherine Hogan Architects in Raleigh, North Carolina. He brings more than three decades of experience in architecture, construction, design-build practice, and architectural education. His work encompasses residential, commercial, institutional, and public projects and explores the relationship between design, craft, materials, and construction. As both an architect and general contractor, he brings a direct understanding of how architecture is conceived, detailed, and built, with an emphasis on thoughtful design solutions that can be realized at a range of scales and budgets.
As an architectural educator, Petrarca has taught architectural design, structures and materials, digital technology, design development, and architectural and digital prototypes. He has also served as a visiting critic and endowed visiting critic at the Syracuse University School of Architecture.
His work has received recognition at the local, regional, national, and international levels, including an AIA National Award, an ACSA Faculty Design Award, selection as a 2023 Emerging Voice by the Architectural League of New York, and recognition from Architectural Record, ARCHITECT Magazine, and The Architect’s Newspaper. His work has also been represented in the Venice Biennale, including the 2025 American Pavilion exhibition PORCH: An Architecture of Generosity, and in A South Forty: Contemporary Architecture + Design in the American South.
Petrarca holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Architecture (BEDA) and Bachelor of Architecture from North Carolina State University, as well as a Post-Professional Master of Architecture from the NC State College of Design. His career reflects a sustained commitment to architecture as both a discipline of ideas and a discipline of making, bringing design, construction, material exploration, and education together in practice.
