Announcing the 2016-17 Digital Making Grants
The CoA+A Digital Arts Center is pleased to announce the recipients of the Fall 2016 Student Digital Making Grants and the 2016-2017 Faculty Digital Making Grants. Student grant recipients will publicly present their completed works December 2016, while faculty recipients will present their completed works Fall 2017.
2016-2017 Faculty Digital Making Grant Awards
- Jessica Lindsey (Music) and Erik Waterkotte (Art), for the performance and installation With Signs Following. This collaborative work will be an interactive musical performance and video-art installation, incorporating an electro-acoustic musical composition.
- Tamara Williams (Dance) for the dance video Shouting Echos: A reconstruction of Ring Shout Traditions. Shouting Echos is a dance film that reconstructs the movements traditions of Ring Shout in the Sea Islands of South Carolina. It will be shot within the Boone Hall slave quarters along ‘Slave Street’ and at the sea of Sullivan’s Island.
Fall 2016 Student Digital Making Grant Awards
- Andrew Beres and Marlee McCall (M.Arch 2), for Helen’s Structural Crochet, traditional crochet in an architectural application.
- Madison Dunaway (Art) and Caleb Roenigk (Art), for With and Without, a large scale interactive sculpture.
- Caitlin Malson (Art), for Heritage, an exploration of heritage through portraiture combining photography and fibers.
