Students interested in the Department of Dance must complete the Department’s application process and be accepted into the university. We recommend that you apply for admission to UNC Charlotte by November 1 to meet the Early Action deadline.

UNC Charlotte Department of Dance does not require an audition for acceptance; new students will be placed in classes appropriate to their level. Admission to the Professional Training Certificate in Dance with Charlotte Ballet does, however, require an audition. To schedule an audition, contact Delia Neil, Certificate Coordinator.

We also encourage all students to join us for our annual Fall Fest on September 21, 2024 and Dance Major Day on February 8, 2025!

Faculty and staff welcome the opportunity to get to know prospective students and their families! Contact Director of Undergraduate Studies Tamara Williams with any questions or our Dance Office Administrator Jen Jacobs for a tour of the department studios, stages, and spaces. Get a head start and check out our Department of Dance facilities!

Plan your visit and register for a campus tour with our office of undergraduate admissions! Your tour experience will highlight Charlotte’s robust 49er community, high-quality academics, and connection to the largest city in North Carolina. Tours include an overview of our application process and admissions requirements, and a guided walking tour of campus and a residence hall.
