How did you first get interested in dance?
I tried a lot of hobbies as a kid and none really suited me. I started dancing when I was 7 at my hometown dance studio and never stopped. I also started teaching dance at age 16.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to have a career in dance that fulfills me artistically and financially. I really would like to have the opportunity to share my pieces with other communities and set my choreography on professional dancers. I would also love to continue sharing my passion for dance with kids.

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Dance?
My favorite thing about UNC Charlotte’s dance department is the people. It is filled with so many inspiring and dedicated professionals that are so easy to build personal connections with. I have also made some of my greatest friends during my time in this department. I love being surrounded by like-minded artistic professionals.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I work as a dance teacher at a local Charlotte dance studio called Dance Expressions. I adore this studio, my co-workers, and students. I can’t wait to be a part of this studio for years to come.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
When I am not in class, I love rehearsing with my friends in our student organization named MOVE Dance Alliance. I also love spending time with my friends and my little brother Everett. I also love playing the guitar and collecting vinyls.
