The Master of Urban Design program presents the second annual Urban Complexities symposium, organized by UNC Charlotte City Building Lab Director Nadia Anderson, associate professor of architecture and urban design. The topic this year is "Equity, Economic Mobility and the Built Environment." Majora Carter, an urban revitalization strategist from The Bronx, NY, will deliver the keynote address. Founder of the non-profit environmental justice solutions corporation, Sustainable South Bronx, Carter has won multiple awards for her work, including a 2005 MacArthur Foundation Fellowship, a 2010 Peabody Award, and a 2007 Martin Luther King Award for Humanitarian Service from New York University. Support for her participation is provided by the Chancellor's Diversity Challenge Fund.
