Dance Studies Association's Asian and Asian Diaspora Dance Studies Working Group presents the launch of South Asian Dance Intersections. South Asian Dance Intersections is a progressive, scholarly, blind peer-reviewed, and open-access journal that seeks to publish a unique blend of original high-quality research in scholarly, choreographic, contemporary, community-building, and technical explorations within South Asian dance and its interdisciplinary intersections. The inaugural issue contains research from six countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

The launch will include comments from the Dance Studies Association and the UNC Charlotte Department of Dance, a conversation with the South Asian Dance Intersections Editorial Board, and reflections from Dr. Ritilka Prasad, a history professor at UNC Charlotte.
