From Their Lungs, by visiting professor and UNC Charlotte alumna Audrey Baran, inspired by "Poem for South African Women" by June Jordan;
Shyamali: Sprouting Words, choreographed by guest artist Ananya Chatterjea, which was premiered by Minneapolis-based Ananya Dance Theatre in 2017;
4J & 1K, created by professor E.E. Balcos in collaboration with Shamou and the dance students; and
Gente de Povo: Aluandê Reimagined, student Melinda Erickson's reimagining of a performance by the ethnomusicologist Emilia Biancardi’s African Brazilian folkloric group Viva Bahia.
