Urban Design Professor Named Chair of ACSA Education Committee
Associate Professor of Architecture and Urban Design Nadia Anderson has been appointed to Chair the Education Committee for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA). This national committee’s charge will be to look at the systems and structures of architectural pedagogy to identify barriers to diverse enrollment, global learning, and the broad perspectives needed for disciplinary relevance in the 21st century (climate change, population movements, income inequality, and equity). Anderson was appointed beginning July 1, 2019 and will serve for one year.
Founded in 1912 by 10 charter members, ACSA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit association of over 200 member schools in several categories. Its mission is to lead architectural education and research.
Anderson is Director of the City.Building.Lab. Her research, teaching, and practice focus on publicly-engaged design as a vehicle for social empowerment and environmental resilience.
