Architecture Professor’s Proposal is Wheelwright Prize Finalist
Assistant Professor of Architecture Catty Dan Zhang’s proposal, “60 mph: Architectural Mediums and Speed Tectonics,” has been selected as a finalist for the $100,000 Wheelwright Prize to support extensive travel and research, sponsored by the Graduate School of Design (GSD) at Harvard University.
The prize is awarded annually “to early-career architects who have demonstrated exceptional design talent, produced scholarly work and professional merit, and who show promise for continued creative work.” Past Wheelwright Fellows include Paul Rudolph, William Wurster, I.M. Pei, Wellington Reiter, and more recently Erik L’Heureax (Singapore), Anna Puigjaner (Spain) and Samuel Bravo (Chile).
Dan Zhang is one of four finalists and will present her proposal at Harvard’s GSD on Monday, March 5.
