“Trikster” Designs Accepted for Costume Society of America Symposium
Costume designs for the Department of Theatre’s 2017 production of Trikster have been accepted for the Design Showcase of the 2019 Costume Society of America Annual Meeting and Symposium, which will be held in Seattle, Washington, April 15-20, 2019. The costumes were designed by Aly Amidei, assistant professor of costume design.
Trikster was a circus-inspired devised performance work about classic Southern trickster characters. The elaborate costumes depicted everything from bears and possums to police officers and a ringmaster.
Aly Amidei joined the faculty of thr Department of Theatre in 2015. Her costume and makeup designs have been seen at Michigan Shakespeare Festival, Magic Theatre of San Antonio, Irish Theater of Chicago, Buffalo Theater Ensemble, Dupage Opera, Stage Left, Artistic Home, House Theater of Chicago, Piven Workshop, Pittsburgh Irish and Classical Theatre, and Vitalist Theater.
