Music Faculty to Present at International Conference

Three faculty from the Department of Music will be presenting at International Society for Music Education conferences this summer.

Fred Spano’s research project. "A Content Analysis of the Status of Music Literature Regarding Students with Exceptionalities," has been selected for poster presentation at the International Society for Music Education Commission on Special Music Education and Music Therapy Pre-Conference Seminar.

Jennifer Whitaker is the lead author on a study titled "The Effect of Selected Parameters on Perceptions of a Music Education Video Posted on YouTube."  The study has been accepted for inclusion at the International Society for Music Education (ISME) Research Commission to be held in London, England, and the ISME World Conference to be held in Glasgow, Scotland. Visiting Professor Dr. Evelyn Orman is a co-author.

Jonathan Govias will present "UNC Charlotte: The Improbable Ensemble" at the International Society for Music Education (ISME) World Conference in Glasgow.  The presentation will include a live demonstration by an "improbable ensemble" comprised of UNC Charlotte students Mitchell Stokes, Faith Foster, Kelsey Sexton, and Dawn Carpenter.
