Art Alumnus Presents at Adobe MAX Conference
Department of Art & Art History alumnus Adé Hogue (BFA ’12) was a conference presenter at Adobe MAX 2018 in Los Angeles, CA, in October. Adobe staff requested that Hogue share an hour presentation on his design process and photography work for conference attendees. In his talk, Hogue revealed for the audience how his creative process builds upon itself to create continual springboards for future ideas. He also details how self-initiated creative work can spur new insights and ideas.
An experienced designer and specialist in hand-created type and lettering, Hogue has enjoyed a successful career with creative firms in Chicago, rising to the position of art director while working with national and global brands such as PayPal, eBay Inc., Nike, ALDI, Ocean Spray, the MilkPep! campaign and more. Adé has presented his personal design explorations in exhibitions, such as the TYPEFORCE 8 annual juried showcase of emerging typographic artists. Prior to his invitation to Adobe MAX, he has been an invited speaker at other design and creativity conferences, such as Top Con 2015 and Creative South 2017.
The Adobe MAX conference is an annual international conference of creative work presented by the Adobe Corporation, which makes the Creative Cloud suite of software, used by designers and creators worldwide. Keynote speakers for Adobe MAX included filmmaker Ron Howard, musician Questlove, and comedienne Tiffany Haddish. Hogue was among a select group of design professionals with a national profile for their engaging creative work, including speakers such as Aaron Draplin, Debbie Millman, and Erik Spiekermann.
