AGA Collaborative, a collaborative dance trio founded by Associate Professor of Dance Gretchen Alterowitz with Alison Bory and Amanda Hamp, has published the article, "Collaborative Ethics: Choreographing Within the System and Beyond," in the journal Performing Ethos: International Journal of Ethics in Theatre & Performance. The article offers insights from their collaborative choreographic process, developed over the past decade.

Focusing on the creation of three works - placed (2015), win. place. show. (2016), and It's five o'clock somewhere (2018), the article explores society's systematized, continual demand for productivity that prioritizes the individual. "Our insistence on co-authorship and cooperation, both onstage and on the page, creates an undercurrent of resistance to dominating structures of scholarship and hyper-valuing of individual achievement," they write.

Alterowitz, Bory (an associate professor at Davidson College), and Hamp (an assistant professor at the University of New Mexico) founded AGA Collaborative in 2011 as a research and performance platform devoted to the study of co-creation and collective processes. In 2018 they jointly published an article in Choreographic Practices 9 (2). The article, “And how to be in three places at once: A collaborative experiment,” reflects on the trio’s creative practices and how their values are manifested through their collaborative working process.
