Musical Theatre Students Win NATS Auditions

Five UNC Charlotte students will advance from the state to the regional auditions.

The College of Arts + Architecture Musical Theatre Certificate program is pleased to announce that three students placed in the North Carolina Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Music Theater auditions, with two additional students advancing to the regional auditions. The Fall 2020 Music Theater NC NATS Virtual Conference was held on November 13 and 14.

Drew Coley (pictured above, left) won First Place in the Third Year College/Independent Studio Music Theater (Tenor, Baritone, Bass) audition.

Migdalia Ramirez (pictured above, center) won Second Place in the Fourth/Fifth Year College/Independent Studio Music Theater (Treble Voice) audition.

Sam Pomerantz (pictured above, right) won Third Place in the Third Year College/Independent Studio Music Theater (Tenor, Baritone, Bass) audition.

Sarah Freeman advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Regional NATS Student Auditions in the Second Year College/Independent Studio Music Theater (Treble Voice) category.

Allison Hancock advanced to the Mid-Atlantic Regional NATS Student Auditions in the Third Year College/Independent Studio Music Theater (Treble Voice) category.

Ramirez is a voice student of Audrey Babcock; Coley, Pomerantz, and Freeman are voice students of Dr. Sequina DuBose; Hancock studies voice with Christina Pier.

The 2021 Mid-Atlantic Region NATS Student Auditions and Conference is scheduled to be held on March 12-13, 2021, at UNC Greensboro.
