Assistant Professor of Costume Design Aly Amidei led the workshop “Accessibility in Costuming” on September 21 as part of a series presented by the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (UTSITT). The webinar presented methods to center accessibility in the costume process, sharing research, case studies, and best practices.

In 2017, she and her husband, actor Brian Amidei, founded Cartage Theatre Company in Charlotte.

Earlier this summer, Amidei’s costume designs for the Department of Theatre production of Pippin were featured in the USITT newsletter. Founded in 1960, USITT promotes dialogue, research, and learning among practitioners of theatre design and technology.
