How did you first get interested in theatre?
My family is full of artists, so growing up I had a lot of exposure to music, singing, and acting! I used to watch a ton of movies with my dad and typically they involved me reenacting the scenes of some kind. I also held a Dwight Yoakam-inspired “concert” for my parents one time.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I would love to have a career where I am able to be a part of a theatrical community where we are able to actively impact, entertain, and support the community around us. Bonus points if it involves puppets!
What is your favorite thing about the Department of Theatre?
My favorite thing about the Theatre Department at Charlotte is the sense of community we have! I have been able to meet so many awesome people including our faculty, professors, and students that all have helped me to grow so much during my time here and could not be where I am today without all of their endless support.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
Currently, I am a member of the Student Advisory Committee for the Theatre Department. We work as the bridge between students and our faculty members to offer ways for student voices to be heard, and for us to give input on things we may want or need at our time here. We also work to host the Grad Party each semester.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I like to play lots of video games, sing 24/7, and write stories with my friends about our DND world.
