BA in Theater Performance
How did you first get interested in theatre?
I’ve loved being on stage since I was in elementary school. I helped with set design in middle and high school as well as singing the national anthem for football and basketball games. Once I graduated, I instructed dance at Arthur Murray for a year. After competing for a little, I decided to take a break from dance and get into modeling and music. I modeled for a few years while working on my EP, “Hummingbird.” Overall, I loved performing on stage in New Jersey and New York City while exploring and challenging my creative skills.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
This is a hard question because I have been able to explore both the production and performance side of theatre here at UNC Charlotte. I love both. I love stage management, but I also love acting. Luckily, I have a stage management apprenticeship in Atlanta starting January, so we will see where I go from there.
What is your favorite thing about the Department of Theater?
Everyone that is in the theatre department! The students, professors, and faculty are just impeccable. I am happy I’ve found a community in the department. Also, we can’t forget our AMAZING advisor, Hannah Harrell. (Someone show her this…because I’m her favorite!)
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I’ve been lucky enough to run the light board for Toni Stone at Three Bone Theatre, as well as working on a show called Succession in Winston-Salem this summer.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love to read, cook, and explore with people I love.
