How did you first get interested in art?
I’ve always been a creative spirit, but started to get serious about art in middle school. I would spend all of my allowance on different trips to Michaels, buying whatever paint and canvases I could afford. My passion for painting quickly turned into digital art in high school when I was in my first digital media course my sophomore year. It’s in that class where I learned the basics behind programs like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and I became hooked. I now frequently use those programs as well as Procreate on my IPad to create different graphics and illustrations.

What kind of career do you hope to have?
I would love to go into the advertising field with graphic design, designing things like packaging and promotions sounds really interesting to me.

What is your favorite thing about The College of Arts + Architecture?
My favorite part of CoA+A is the community. Everyone is so welcoming and makes me feel valued as a part of the team.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
During my first year at Charlotte, I volunteered as a graphic designer at the literary arts magazine here on campus, Nova. My volunteering got me very involved with the team, where about a month into the fall semester, I was hired as the promotions coordinator. This year I am again on the Nova team, but now as a graphic designer.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
When I’m not in class I will usually be found drawing, putting together a lego set, or spending way too much time on pinterest.
