Christina Hudgins has recently established herself in Greensboro, N.C., after a stint as a creative arts therapist at Riveredge Hospital, a mental health facility in the Chicago area.
“I primarily work with children and adolescents, as well as adults diagnosed with development/intellectual disabilities,” she says. “I also teach creative movement and dance classes. My identity as a dancing artist and teaching artist informs my work as a dance/movement therapist.”
In 2018, we interviewed Christina for the College of Arts + Architecture’s 10th anniversary. This is an excerpt from our digital publication, CoA+A Community.
“We are valued. We have a purpose. We are all worthy. No matter what we are labeled, where our abilities lie, what we choose to own, what we choose to let go of, what we must own, what we must let go of, what we have been through, and what we will go through throughout our lives,” says Christina Hudgins.
In this video, she conveys a message about value and validity through poetic movement and text.
