Two Students Advance to NATS National Auditions
Two UNC Charlotte students who competed at the state and regional levels of the National Association for Teachers of Singing (NATS) Student Auditions have advanced to the national level of the competition in the Music Theater category. Sam Pomerantz (student of Assistant Professor of Voice Sequina DuBose) and Migdalia Ramirez (student of Assistant Professor of Voice Audrey Babcock) will compete in the NATS Student Auditions during the NATS Summer Workshop, to be held virtually, July 7-10, 2021.
Pomerantz and Ramirez competed successfully in the 2021 Mid-Atlantic Region NATS Student Auditions, held March 12-13, and are among five students from the region, which includes North and South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, to advance to the national auditions in the Music Theater category. They will submit video performances for the virtual audition.
Both students are in the Musical Theatre Certificate program and recently performed in the Department of Theatre production of See Rock City and other Destinations. Pomerantz is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, and Ramirez in pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in theatre.
