Visiting Assistant Professor of Acting Ron McClelland is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and is the recipient of their New York Alumni Award for acting (The Henry Boettcher Award). Some of the theater companies he’s worked with as an actor/director include the Pittsburgh Public Theater, City Theater, and The Intiman Theater in Seattle, as well as local theaters such as the Carolina Actors Studio Theater (CAST), the Actors’ Theater of Charlotte, and the Children’s Theatre of Charlotte.

As an instructor he has taught acting at Carnegie Mellon University’s Pre-College Theater Program, Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera, Pittsburgh High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), and at both The University of Pittsburgh and UNC Charlotte as a Theater Adjunct/Guest Artist in Residence.  

Some of the artists he’s trained or worked with professionally include a list of Pulitzer Prize, Tony, Emmy, and Drama Desk award-winning directors, choreographers, and playwrights.
