Carol Bacon, AIA is a Principal at ADW Architects and a part-time Lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte School of Architecture, where she has taught design studios, writing seminars, and interdisciplinary courses since 2014. She currently serves as the Integrated Path to Licensure (IPAL) Coordinator and advises students and emerging professionals pursuing architectural licensure.

In practice, Carol leads new construction and renovation projects across K–12 education, higher education, and cultural sectors, while also directing firm wide initiatives focused on mentorship, professional development, and licensure support. She is a registered architect in North Carolina and an active leader within the American Institute of Architects, currently serving as Past President of AIA Charlotte and was previously a member of the AIA North Carolina Board.

Carol holds a Master of Architecture from UNC Charlotte, where her thesis on architectural education and integrative learning received the award for Best Thesis in Architectural History and Theory. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and regularly contributes to academic reviews, professional conferences, and licensure-related programming.
