Lecturer Carol Bacon, AIA  is a registered architect in North Carolina. She holds an M.Arch. from UNC Charlotte and a B.S. in Arch. from Georgia Tech.

In her academic work, she has taught first year design studio and third year writing seminars starting in 2014. Her research has been published in ACSA proceedings and she is currently serving as a NAAB Visiting Team member from 2016-2020. Her academic service initiatives also include being a liaison to the Integrated Path to Licensure Program (IPAL) and serving on the advisory committee for Central Piedmont Community College in the Architectural Technology department.
 
Carol also has 12 years of professional experience, including 9 years with ADW Architects in Charlotte where she is currently an associate. As the Director of Professional Development for ADW, she leads firm initiatives in fostering mentorship and professional growth. As an architect, she also manages projects through all design phases from developing creating concepts, through documentation and construction. She works in a variety of market sectors with specific focus in educational and retail/entertainment.
