How did you first get interested in art?
I was born in the U.S. but moved to India at a very young age and was raised there! Having been raised in such a diverse country in terms of the culture and the art, specifically the bold and unique advertising style, really struck me and made me want to start developing some of my original digital designs based on what I had seen and experienced.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I aspire to work for big tech companies such as MetaLab, Accenture, Cisco and Frog. I hope to either be a product manager and designer or be a part of an advertising company as a marketing UX designer! I am interested in design research and product/ui/web design, so I would love to work on projects that involve prototyping, Front end development and user testing and interaction design.
What is your favorite thing about UNC Charlotte?
My favorite thing about UNC Charlotte is the sense of community and its inclusivity. I have met some incredible people throughout my year here who share the same interests. Additionally, exploring different aspects of Graphic design has always been my favorite part about my work. Being a part of CoA+A has also helped me in terms of learning new software and design styles that I can use to be even more creative.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I recently joined the student organization, Society of Art Historians, and I’m excited to be a part of this community. I love museums and galleries and find art history extremely fascinating so I look forward to contributing towards this community.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love exploring the city and visiting new towns in my free time. I also enjoy taking long walks and spending time with my family and friends:)
