How did you first get interested in art?
I have always loved art since I was a kid, but I never thought I would be going to school for it. I took a chance switching from a biology major to graphic design, and I have never felt so sure that this is where I am supposed to be!
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I would love to use my graphic design skills to help in the animal conservation world.
What is your favorite thing about the Department of Art & Art History?
I love the small class sizes! You really get to know everyone in the department, and it makes for an amazing learning environment.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
Not in Charlotte, but I do intern work for the SPCA of the Triad in Greensboro, NC
What are the benefits of your scholarship?
I received the Broderick Adé Hogue Memorial Scholarship Award this semester. I am honored to receive this scholarship honoring a talented artist and inspirational person: Broderick Adé Hogue. I appreciate the reprieve of monetary stress this scholarship allowed, as my disabilities make it extremely difficult to work while in school.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
Outside of doing art, I enjoy reading a good book!
