How did you first get interested in dance?

I first got involved with dance when I was 2, and my mom signed me up for a rec class at our local dance studio! I was first introduced to musicals in elementary school when my school put on a production of “Fun on 42nd Street.” I have loved incorporating acting, singing, and dancing since then!

What kind of career do you hope to have?

After I graduate, I would like to be a performer on cruise ships!

What is your favorite thing about the Department of Dance?

My favorite thing about the dance department is how supportive the professors and students are! I love that we all are a family.

Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?

October 18th through November 3rd, 2024, I am in the Piedmont Players production of “The Music Man.” It is in Salisbury, NC, and the director and choreographer is Adjunct Lecturer Tod A. Kubo. I am a member of the dance ensemble, along with serving as one of the dance captains for the show.

What’s one thing you have gained from your scholarship?

I have a dance department scholarship. I am truly honored to have this scholarship, and I love the opportunity to represent the department. I am able to work open houses and recruitment events. I enjoy getting to talk to prospective students and telling them all the incredible things our department offers.

When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?

I love to read, watch movies, and hangout with my friends!
