How did you first get interested in architecture?
I first got interested in architecture when I was little because I liked to look at houses and see how differently each one was set up. Once I got to high school, that is when I really got interested, especially when it came to drafting and learning to use digital modeling programs. I like the fact that each day is different and it’s a major where you can watch the final project or idea come to life.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to one day be able to work as a Disney imagineer, and then I want to work for myself at my own firm.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?
My favorite things about CoA+A are all of the different people we get to meet and work with as well as the field trips we get to go on. I think it’s very valuable to explore arts and architecture beyond the Charlotte community, and the School of Architecture has done a great job of providing us with many of those opportunities.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte community?
I am a part of Delta Zeta, and I love volunteering with them to give back to the community. I also love to just hang out with all of the girls each weekend. I am also in MOVE Dance Alliance, and I love getting back into dance and meeting so many new people through something we all love to do.
Can you talk about your experience as a scholarship student?
I received the Lambla Endowed Scholarship, and this scholarship has just helped support me in continuing my education in architecture at UNC Charlotte and gave me the opportunity to learn better ways to build a portfolio and resume.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I love to hang out with my friends, and go on little road trips.
