Jacob grew up in Louisiana and has been inspired by its rich history and culture. From a very young age he was fascinated by the influence of art in every aspect of life in New Orleans, especially the architecture. He knew from a young age that architecture was something he was really passionate about and wanted to pursue it as a career.
As he was finishing high school, he started looked into several architecture programs when looking at colleges. After his research, Jacob decided to attend UNC Charlotte. “My degree allowed me to apply for jobs confidently knowing that I had a basic understanding of the fundamentals in urban design.” Jacob also said that some of his favorite memories from his time in the College of Arts + Architecture were watching his work and architecture skills improve and having that hard work recognized by his professors.
Jacob is currently an Urban Designer for Lake Flato Architects in Austin, TX. “We work on projects ranging from master planning dense urban districts to site planning luxury resorts.” He has worked on several amazing projects including the 500 Congress Mixed-Use district in the SOCO neighborhood of Austin, TX.
