How did you first get interested in performing?
Being in the spotlight has always been a dream of mine, whether it’s performing as a dancer or as an athlete. My interest in theatre started when I was a sophomore in college at Alabama State University. I noticed I had stage fright and I wanted help to overcome it. I also noticed my interest in other career paths such as working behind the scenes – watching my creativity come to life.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
My career goal is to become a professional dancer and gradually become an actress who advances in the behind-the-scenes.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?
My favorite thing about the CoA+A is the use of resources that can help students take interest in more than one thing. There are new opportunities offered everyday.
Tell us about your play, “You Hear Me, But Are You Listening?” which is being performed as part of the Department of Theatre’s production, Gather Again.
My play is about a star athlete of the house who is open about his sexuality, ready to take a stand, and follows his dreams against his father, but more so for himself. He finally has found his passion and he is happy within himself.
