How did you first get interested in art?
I’ve been drawn to the arts for as long as I can remember. Growing up with creative parents, artistic expression was always a natural part of my world. That early exposure shaped my interests and eventually led me to pursue it more seriously. During my time at early college, I had an incredible professor who deeply inspired me, someone who not only encouraged me to follow my passion but also challenged me to keep learning and growing. Their influence played a big role in my decision to pursue a BFA and commit myself more fully to the creative path.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to create a space where artists can come together to grow, explore, and create freely. A place that offers residencies and studio spaces where individuals feel supported, and inspired to express themselves fully. I want it to be a place that fosters a creative community where learning, collaboration, and self-discovery thrive.
What is your favorite thing about the Department of Art & Art History?
I love the community I’ve built and how supportive, creative, and inspiring everyone is.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
I work as a photography intern for CoA+A.
What are the benefits of your scholarship?
I was awarded the WNC Regionals Scholarship in 2023, they have helped pay a good portion of my college expenses the whole time I’ve been here!
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I enjoy traveling around to different car shows, meets, and other events shooting digitally and on film as well.
