How did you first get interested in art?
My interest in Graphic Design really came during university. My high school didn’t have any graphic design classes so coming into university I really thought graphic design was just logos and marketing, but in those entry classes, I found a true interest and passion in layout and typographical work. The further I went into my major the more love I developed for it and was eventually able to find what kind of designer I wanted to be and what kind of design speaks most to me.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
In the future, I hope to have a career in print production whether it be doing layout designs for a magazine or working creating fliers and posters.
What is your favorite thing about the Department of Art & Art History?
I think my favorite thing about the department would be just how welcoming and loving everyone is. No matter what it feels like you always have a support team on your side, especially when you’re on campus late at night working on projects, it’s really nice having someone there you can bounce ideas off of and get help with things.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
When I’m not studying or working one thing I enjoy doing is taking my dog for hikes. I like taking a break from technology and the busyness of the world and getting to spend a bit of time outdoors.
