How did you first get interested in architecture?
I first became interested in architecture during a 3 year architecture course throughout high school. It was the very act of creation that felt so satisfying to me, filling the urge to create I’ve always had. Even though I had many more rigorous courses, I always felt like doing architecture work.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
I hope to work in a design field of some kind, anything from furniture maker to urban designer. I would like to be able to work across many different types of human-scale design. This could mean furniture, architecture, urban design, etc.– anything that allows me to create spaces for people to inhabit. At the moment I am not focused on architectural licensing, as I would like to understand the entire breadth of design before I lock myself into a career. My biggest dream would be to have my own design studio where I am able to seek out work of many different scales and clientele; I would like my work to benefit the community.
What is your favorite thing about the David R. Ravin School of Architecture?
I love how close everyone is in the architecture department. Being part of a cohort of students and having many interactions with professors makes the program very supportive!
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
I really enjoy drawing, writing, or basically whatever creative thing I am fixated on. Most recently, I have been making abstract videos in my spare time.
