How did you first get interested in architecture?
From a young age designing and crafting was something that provided joy for me. Art has always been a part of my life from a young age, whether it was dance, music, or craft. Prior to architecture, I was a classical music major, with the cello being my main instrument. Eventually, I decided that design and creation fulfilled my need to create and produce.
What kind of career do you hope to have?
My dream career is becoming a luthier (crafter of string instruments). Otherwise, I hope to be a general designer and not limit myself to one avenue.
What is your favorite thing about the College of Arts + Architecture?
My favorite thing about the college is the culture of art students. The bonds that we have made in this school are truly family-like.
Do you participate in any community activities or work in the Charlotte arts community?
Outside of school, I am a part of the @letskatecharlotte roller skating group. We come together once a week and roll through the streets of Charlotte. From this community, I have been able to do things such as star in commercials and parades as well as help gather donations for homeless youth groups.
When you are not in class, studying, or working, what do you like to do for fun?
Roller-skating is where you will find me outside of studying. Skating has provided me with a physical outlet to express myself and find my peace.
