The School of Architecture hosts artist Benjamin Ball of Ball-Nogues Studio for a lecture that is free and open to the public. Ball will give an overview of his practice from his early days as set designer through stints in architecture and into his ongoing practice as a public artist and designer.

Ball will devote special attention to “the design of the production process”–  a method that involves setting up novel problems for the maker. The Ball-Nogues Studio creates proprietary systems of computation and one-off means of fabrication, building custom tools in a do-it-yourself fashion. The results are unique and extraordinary.

This lecture has been sponsored by the Arts & Science Council.
