Jaquasha Colón

Part-time Lecturer, Urban Design

Jaquasha Colón (she/her) currently works as an Urban Designer for Stantec in Raleigh, North Carolina, and is the part-time lecturer for the Master of Urban Design Fundamentals Studio for Fall 2020.

Her design education began at Florida A&M University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies. Following this, she came to UNC Charlotte for the 2014-2015 Master of Urban Design (MUD) program. During her time in the program she served as a Research Assistant in the City Building Lab, and then served as the MUD Fundamentals Teaching Assistant for the Fall 2016 Studio.

Since completing the Master of Landscape Architecture program at North Carolina State University in 2017, she has been working as an urban designer with a primary focus in Multimodal Planning, Long Range Planning, and Complete Streets design. As a professional, she is passionate about community engagement and making planning and design knowledge easily accessible. She has completed Charrette Systems Training under the National Charrette Institute and has participated in over ten charrettes, coordinating several herself, in her young career.
