This show is a devised, promenade performance piece (meaning that the audience will travel with actors through the garden as the story unfolds around them). This project is the brainchild of Professors Laura Waringer and Andrew Hartley, as part of their course in Site-Specific Theatre. Based roughly on Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT, it will be the final UNC Charlotte project undertaken by Professor Hartley before his retirement at the end of this school year.
As You Like It follows its heroine Rosalind as she flees persecution from her uncle. She is joined by her cousin Celia, and they find safety in the Forest of Arden. Dring their travels, they meet a variety of characters that help these two girls challenge the traditional norms of love, gender roles, and more.
In the event of rain, the shows will either be cancelled more moved to an indoor location.
PLEASE NOTE: Audience is limited to the first 25 attendees. Please click here to reserve your spot!
