February 13, 2020 - 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Projective Eye Gallery (UNC Charlotte Center City Building)

As Jonathan Openheim states in Postdigital Artisans, “Our digital mindset is inextricably entangled within our existence, whether or not the digital technology is actually present.” By manifesting this complicated reality into physical space and materials, a select number of artists are able to tease apart the dichotomies of analog vs. digital or real vs. virtual into a more nuanced conversation.

This group exhibition will feature leading figures in contemporary art whose works directly or indirectly respond to digital technology in a range of media and materials.  This exhibition has been organized with help from Thomas Schmidt and Janet Williams, associate professors of art at UNC Charlotte.

It is on view in the Projective Eye Gallery, January 17-March 13, with a reception on February 13, 6-8:30 p.m.
