This solutions-oriented conversation will explore creative means of reimagining water in our City of Creeks as a means of reconciling conversation and urban growth. How can urban development in Charlotte deliver net positive watershed impact?

Catawba Riverkeeper will share challenges and opportunities identified in their 2023 State-of-the-Water-Report. Courtney Crosson (University of Arizona) will describe urban-scale ‘new zero water’ efforts underway in Tucson and other cities in the American West. Brook Muller (Dean of the College of Arts + Architecture and author of Blue Architecture) will show how to work with water in achieving cost effective and ecologically responsive design solutions. We ask community thought leaders to share ideas for simultaneously meeting goals of development and environmental quality. We all live downstream!
